Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ)
- Do the coins need to be sorted before counting?
The CS-10 is primarily a counter, and does not sort; however, you can still conduct 'waterfall' or 'off-sort' sorting.
(Step 1) The method would be to set/program the CS-10 to count the largest coin, quarters, for instance.
(Step 2) You load a batch of mixed coins into the CS-10 which then counts the quarters while depositing the quarters into the bank bag. All the other coins land in the off-sort (side) tray or bag.
(Step 3) Replace the quarter bag with the next size down (e.g. nickel).
(Step 4) Repeat Steps 1-3 using the reject tray or bag for loading, until all denominations are completed.
The end result will be a coin bag for each denomination along with a count obtained from each round of counting.
