Cassida 6600 Bill Counter
Dust buildup on the infrared (IR) count sensors may cause a DBL ("double feed") error. If the buildup is heavy, it may require cleaning the IR sensors with a cotton swab and isopropyl alcohol.
There are two pairs of IR sensors in the 6600 series. Each pair consists of an emitter and a receiver. The photo below shows the location of these sensors. You can see the receiver in View "C". The emitter is located on the metal bracket immediately above the receiver.
- To clean, turn off and unplug the 6600.
-
Use a cotton swab moistened with isopropyl alcohol (not dripping wet).
-
Gently clean the emitter and receiver for both left and right sensors.
-
Use a dry swab to remove any residual alcohol that may remain.
-
Finish by using the air duster to remove any cotton swab particles that may remain.
